About

I’m Martin Wallis, divers here in N.Z. know me as Party Marty! I do have a real job (renovation management) but mostly when people ask what I do the answer is “I’m an underwater photographer”. I’ve been shooting UW photos for over a decade now but it still gets more exciting with each passing year. Of course, I shoot birds and landscape as well, hence the name Nature’s Eye, but underwater is my number one passion.

Technology enabling underwater excellence

I live in Auckland, New Zealand so the famous Poor Knights Islands is the backyard where I do most of my diving/photography, having said that, I try to dive elsewhere on a regular basis. Other favourite dive destinations are Fiji, Truk, Australia. A number of years ago I started using dive rebreather technology which has massively extended the time I can spend underwater (much to the consternation of my lovely wife, Dana).
